China Adoption

China is in eastern Asia, bounded by the Pacific in the east. The population of China is 1.295 Billion. This accounts for 22% of the world population. The U.S. population is approximately 292 Million and has only a slightly larger land Mass than China. Because of this overpopulation, many family planning measures have been imposed to slow the population growth. Because centuries have gone by with the teaching that boys are more important to stay with the family and take care of the land, baby girls are sometimes abandoned. Even though abandoning a baby in China is against the law, it is usually done in secret, and sometimes in an area away from where the birth mother lives.

These baby girls are usually left in places where they will be found quickly. They are not left to die. Many years ago, abortion was common but today it is illegal and most families do not want to put their baby up for china adoption by leaving them out to be found. Because of heavy fines though, there are baby girls that are found every day and taken to orphanages to be taken care of. This often leads to a story of China Adoption stories being told from countries all over the world.
